A RESOLUTION declaring July 23, 2004 as a "Day of Tribute" in the City of Lakewood in honor of those men and women who served and died while in military selVice WHEREAS, On Friday, July 23, 2004, 1,359 names of men and women who served and died while in military service during the wars of 1899 to 2003 will be read in a ceremony of rededication at the Center Fountain Memorial, Veterans' Memorial Plaza in downtown Cleveland, and; WHEREAS, the Greater Cleveland Veterans Memorial, Inc. has requested that the City of Lakewood declare July 23, 2004 as a "Day of Tribute" to those men and women of Lakewood who have served and died while in military service during the wars of the 20th century and beyond, and; WHEREAS, the Greater Cleveland Veterans Memorial, Inc will add the names to include those Greater Clevelanders who died in military service in the other wars of the period and adding names of World War II (103) and Korean War (25) casualties who are not currently included on the Memorial Now therefore; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO' Section 1 That this Council and Mayor, declare Juiy 23, 2004 as a "Day of Tribute" in the City of Lakewood in honor of those men and women who served and died while in military service Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
