Madigan.Seelie. <br /> <br />~,~ <br />fn:{ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION calling upon the citizens of Lakewood to participate in fIre prevention <br />activities at home, work and school, and to heed the message: "It's Fire Prevention Week: Test <br />Your Smoke Alarms" as the 2004 Fire Prevention Week theme suggests <br /> <br />WHEREAS, cooking, heating and electrical [¡res represent three of the nation's leading <br />canses of home [¡res and are collectively responsible for nearly half of all home [¡res and almost <br />one-third of the associated fire deaths; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, smoke alarms have been proven an effective lifesaver, having helped to cut <br />home fire death rate by one half since their introduction to the general public; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 2004 Fire Prevention Week theme - "It's Fire Prevention Week Test <br />Your Smoke Alarms" - teaches the public how working smoke alanns are essential in every <br />household and should be installed on every level of a home including the basement and outside <br />of each separate sleeping area; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Division of Fire is dedicated to the safety of life and property from the <br />devastating effects of fire; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, members of the Lakewood Division of Fire are joined by other concerned <br />citizens of this City, as well as businesses, schools, service clubs and organizations in their fire- <br />safety efforts; and now therefore: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />, <br /> <br />Section I. That this Council and Mayor designate and proclaim October 4th _ 8th, 2004 as <br />Fire Prevention Week in the City of Lakewood and call upon the citizens of Lakewood to <br />participate in fire prevention activities at home, work and school and to heed the message' "It's <br />Fire Prevention Week Test Your Smoke Alarms" <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to <br />forward a copy this Resolution to: CbiefLawrence E Mroz, Fire Station No I, 14601 Madison <br />Avenne, Lakewood, Ohio and a that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Section 3 It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such <br />fOIIDal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements <br /> <br />Adopted: ~LJúl ,}(JðI <br /> <br /><;2~. ¿...~ <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br /> <br />1JJ'(J 7,+ <br />~}tr J/~A/ <br /> <br />Approved: 4£, .)~, Ôl\?
