<br />RESOLUTION NO. 7931-04 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Dernro. Dever, Dunn, <br />FitzGerald, Madí2an. Seelie. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION honoring Gary Easter on the occasion of his retirement <br />from the Division of Police after eighteen years of service. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Gary Easter began his service with the Lakewood Division of Police <br />in July of 1986; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Gary Easter helped to inaugurate the DARE Program; started <br />youth baseball programs, heiped to initiate after school basketball programs for at-risk <br />youth; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Gary Easter was the Lakewood Police Department's first school <br />resource officer in 1998 and he became friend, confidant, mentor and voice of reason <br />to many young people who had nowhere else to turn; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Gary Easter was awarded the Ohio Attorney General's 2004 <br />Distinguished Law Enforcement Service Award for his tireless work on behalf of the <br />young people of the Lakewood community; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Gary Easter's dedication to young people and excellent sèrvice to <br />the City of Lakewood, Division of Police will be missed by his co-workers and the <br />citizens of the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />BE iT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO' <br /> <br />Section 1. That this Council and Mayor wish to thank Gary Easter for his <br />eighteen years of dedicated service and to wish him many happy years of retirement <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Councii is hereby authorized and directed to <br />forward a copy this Resolution to Mr. Gary Easter, 6178 Forest Ridge Drive, North <br />Olmsted, OH 44070, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of <br />this meeting <br /> <br />Section 3.
