RESOLUTION NO. 7963-05 BY: Corrigan, Demro, Dever, Dunn, FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie. AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor as Director of Public Safety, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with Cuyahoga County to accept and expend funds under the Office of Domestic Preparedness Fisæl Year 2004 Citizen Corps Grant Program to assist in the development of a Community Emergency Response Team (CERl) in the amount of $12,090.00. WHEREAS, CERT training promotes a partneririg effort between emergency services and the residents that they serve; and WHEREAS, the grant program's goals are for emergency personnel to train members of neighborhooOds, community organizations òr workplaces in basic response skills; and , WHERI!AS, acceptanc~ of this gr,mt will permit the City to establish a Community Emergency Response Team ill accordance with the Office of Domestic Preparedness grant purposes. WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE cm OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments appliætions for these funds are due by February 4, 2005 and the City was able to obtain an extenSion of this deadline to February B, 2005. Now Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE cm OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO , Section 1. The Mayor as Director of Public Safety, is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with Cuyahoga County to accept and expend funds under the Office of Domestic Preparedness Fiscal Year 2004 Citizen Corps Grant Program to assist in the development of a Community Emergency Response Team (CERl) in the amount of $12,090.00. Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopt"d in an open m<;!eting of this council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. Section 4. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the Immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare in the City and for the usual daily operation of the City for
