<br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />7963-05 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Corrigan, Demro, Dever, Dunn, <br />FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor as Director of Public <br />Safety, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with Cuyahoga County to <br />accept and expend funds under the Office of Domestic Preparedness Fisæl Year 2004 <br />Citizen Corps Grant Program to assist in the development of a Community Emergency <br />Response Team (CERl) in the amount of $12,090.00. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CERT training promotes a partneririg effort between emergency <br />services and the residents that they serve; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the grant program's goals are for emergency personnel to train <br />members of neighborhooOds, community organizations òr workplaces in basic response <br />skills; and <br /> <br />, <br />WHERI!AS, acceptanc~ of this gr,mt will permit the City to establish a Community <br />Emergency Response Team ill accordance with the Office of Domestic Preparedness <br />grant purposes. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall <br />take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE cm OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and <br />to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments appliætions for these <br />funds are due by February 4, 2005 and the City was able to obtain an extenSion of this <br />deadline to February B, 2005. Now Therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE cm OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br />, <br />Section 1. The Mayor as Director of Public Safety, is hereby authorized, on <br />behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with Cuyahoga County to accept and <br />expend funds under the Office of Domestic Preparedness Fiscal Year 2004 Citizen Corps <br />Grant Program to assist in the development of a Community Emergency Response <br />Team (CERl) in the amount of $12,090.00. <br /> <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopt"d in an open <br />m<;!eting of this council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Section 4. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the Immediate preservation of the public peace, property, <br />health, safety and welfare in the City and for the usual daily operation of the City for <br />
