<br />RESOLUTION NO: 8021-05 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Demro, Dever, Dunn <br /> <br />FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION recognizing and acknowledging the 2005 Go Green Award winners within the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />WHERAS, the Committee for a Greener Lakewood was established to aid in the implementation and execution of <br />polices and practices that will decrease the City of Lakewood's ecological footprint while encouraging positive <br />environmental actions towards a more sustainable community; and <br /> <br />WHERAS, the "Go Green Awards" was established by Council to reward sustainable practices, èncourage <br />competition and active participation in sustainable & innovative thinking, and to engage the public and business owners in <br />sustainable education¡ and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the process for compiling a list of nominees for the "Go Green Awards" involved open nominations, <br />committee member interviews with prospective residents and businesses, a sustainable performance evaluation in three <br />broad categories (structure, operations, and community), and a personal statement from each nominee highlighting their <br />sustainable practices; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mr. And Mrs. John Bentley; owners of 1661 Mars Avenue have been selected to receive a 2005 <br />Lakewood Residential Go Green Award; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Scott Duennes, Executive Director of Nature's Bin/Cornucopia has been selected to receive a 2005 <br />Lakewood Corporate Go Green Award; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Julie and Bobby Breitenstein, ownerS of Phoenix Coffee House have been selected to receive a 2005 <br />Lakewood Corporate Go Green Award; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Keith Ludwig, owner of Dynasty Deconstruction has been selected to receive a 2005 Lakewood <br />Corporate Go Green Award; and <br /> <br />,WHEREAS, the intent of the "Go Green Awards" program is to recognize and publicize the outstanding <br />contributions of Lakewood's residential and corporate citizens for their positive environmental actions towards a more <br />sustainable community. NOW THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOO, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />, Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor recognizes the 2005 Go Green Award winners who have <br />contributed significantly to improving the City of Lakewood through their positive environmental actions towards a more <br />sustainable community. <br /> <br />Section 2. ThaUhe Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to fO/ward a certified copy <br />of this Resolution to John J. Lynch, Chairman, Committee for a Greener Lakewood, and that a copy of this Resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Section 3.
