<br />RESOLUTION NO <br /> <br />8031-05 <br /> <br />BY·Corrigan, Demro, Dever, Dunn, <br />FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION proclaiming October 9th, 2005 as Fallen Firefighter Memorial <br />Day in the City of Lakewood <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Nalional Fallen Firefighters Memorial Day serves as a public <br />reminder of the risks firefighters take to protect the lives and property of others; and, <br /> <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 2004, 101 firefighters died in the line of duty in the United States; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood recognizes the dedication and sacrifices the <br />Firefighlers of this country make for the protection and well-being of all our citizens, <br />and; <br />WHEREAS, the Fallen Firefighter Memorial is a symbol of our eternal sorrow and <br />gratitude for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Firefighters of Lakewood will be honoring their fallen brothers <br />and sisters across this nation on Sunday, October 9th, 2005, at 12.·00pm, at the <br />memorial sculpture located at 14601 Madison Avenue, in front of Fire Station No 1; <br />now, therefore: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO' <br /> <br />Section 1. ThaI this Council and Mayor, will commemorate the sacrifice of <br />America's Firefighlers by declaring Oclober 9th, 2005 in the Cily of Lakewood as Fallen <br />Firefighters Memorial Day and that all City of Lakewood flags will be flown at the half <br />staff In their honor <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a copy this Resolution to the Lakewood Association of Firefighters, <br />Local #382 of the Inlernational Association of Firefighters, AFL-CIO, at 18124 Òetroit <br />Avenue, c/o Daniel J Herdman, Lakewood, Ohio, and that a copy of lhis Resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this meeting <br /> <br />r <br />, <br /> <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of lhis resolution were adopled in an <br />open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any <br />of its commiltees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public <br />in compliance with all legal requirements <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Adopted' ()r;;(;..L, ~.
