R~SOLUTIONNO 8059-05 BY',Butler, Demro, Dever, Dnnn, <br /> FitzGerald, Madlgan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to corrm~end Den/s P Dutm for his public service as Councilmember- <br />aMarge of the City of Lake~vood <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Denis P Dram, was elected to the office of Cotmcilmember-at-large in the <br />City of Lakewood for the term commencing January t, 2002 and ending December 31, 2005, mid <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Drafts P Dram sponsored and supported legislation that advocated <br />hlclusiveness, helped the less fortunate, encore'aged a living wage for working men and women, <br />valued artists and poets, recognized the worth of those who serve m~d served our country hi the <br />armed forces and consistently brought a sense of justice m~d the dignity of all people to his work <br />on behalf o f the citizens of Lakewood, mid <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Denis P Dunn called for better government bringing forth the City-Stat <br />progrmn ~vhich provides benchii~arks to increase efficiency in city services; he also sponsored <br />Lakewood's participation in the Northeast Ohio Sourcing Office that allows for cost savings <br />tkroughjoint pm'chasing with other municipalities, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Denis P. Dum~ lead the effort for the City's Green Building policy to <br />encourage environmentally sensitive construction and operations of balldings, mad <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Dehis P Durra promoted a strong Lakewood community tkrough the <br />creation of the Lakewood Conunmdty Relations Advisory Cmmrdssion, the designation of a <br />municipal dog park as well as his push for Lakewood to participate in the greater Cleveland <br />Artists Surrm~it, , and <br /> <br /> WHEtLEAS, Denis P Dunn brought compassion to his personal interaction mid political <br />decision-malting, and <br /> <br /> WiiEREAS, Denis P. Dunn never veered fi'om following his conscience, regardless of <br />the consequences and made Lakewood more livable, safer and cleaner because of it, mid <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Denis P Dtnm is hi possession of a Ire'ge and yet light hca2 that brkigs good <br />humor m~d decency into each enviromnent he enters; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO' <br /> <br /> Section 1 That this Comtcil and Mayor wish to commend Denis P. Dram for his <br />dedicated smwice as Co~mcilrnember-at-large for the City of Lakewood and further that this <br />Council wishes him continued yem's of liealth, happkiess and prosperity <br /> <br /> Section 2.
