RBSOLUTIONNO 8074-06 BY' Butler, Demro, Dever, FitzGerald, <br /> Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to cormncnd St. Peter's Child Care Center for being the <br />first in Lakewood to receive a two-star rating through the Step Up to Quality program. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Step Up to Quality program is aimed at improving Ohio <br />child care quality and is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services' <br />Bureau of Child Care and Development, and its partners, the Ohio Department of <br />Education, the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association and Build Ohio, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the system provides administrators with a clear path toward <br />quality and improvement standards and provides parents with a tool for more confident <br />evaluation of child care centers, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a two-star rating indicates a first-rate staff-to-child ratio, a <br />well-educated and trained faculty and a program that meets state expectations for children <br />starting kfl~dergarten, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, St. Petar's commitment to nurturing the physical, social, <br />emotional and intellectual developmant of each child it serves in a loving and safe <br />environment is its mission and Lakewood's reality and deservers public cognizance and <br />recognition; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO, <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor hereby commend St. Peter's <br />Child Care Center and especially Sarah Wiersma, her faculty and staff, on their stellar <br />work in child care and on being the first in Lakewood th receive a two-star rating through <br />the Step Up to Quality program. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
