RESOLUTION NO 8094-06 <br /> <br />Antonio Butler~ De~ro, Dever, <br />FitzGerald, ~fadigan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION extending congratulations to Lakewood resident and <br />Lakewood High School Sophomore Erin Bartlett on her outstanding performance at the <br />United States Speed Skating Nationals in Madison, Wisconsin March 16-19 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Erin Bartlett was the National Junior Girls Champion (ages <br />14 & i5), earned First Place in the 1000 meter, 1500 meter, and 3000 meter; Second <br />Place in the 500 meter, ackieved a Junior Category I Elite Status for Junior girls ages I2- <br />19, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, US Speed Skating targets 12-15 Junior girls across the <br />country for this status who are eligible for funding, camps, and further development <br />opportunities, Erin is now eligible to train in the Junior Elite Camp in Colorado Springs <br />and also will be mining this summer with the National team in Marquette, Michigan; <br />Erin will receive a US Speed Skating Skin (outfit) for this achievement, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Erin is the current Ohio State Champion for Junior girls (ages <br />14-16) winning this title this year again at Winterhurst lcd Rink h~ February 2006, she <br />also won the Junior Title for girls 14 and 15 last year and is currently holding the state <br />record time for the 500m, 1000m, and 1500m, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Erin Bartlett started skating at Winterhurst Ice Rink when <br />she was six years old and it is only fitting and proper that Lakewood's own Winterhm:st- <br />bread celebrity be given public cognizance and recognition by formal resolution; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />OHIO~ <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY TIiB CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br /> Section 1 That this Council and Mayor give its across the board <br />congratulations to Erin Bartlett, and that of all of the citizens of the Lakewood <br />community, for her outstanding athletic achievements at the U S Speed Skating <br />Nationals in Madison, Wisconsin March 16-19 <br /> <br /> Section 2, That the Council and Mayor further extend to Erin's proud <br />parents Theresa Biro and Jeff Bartlett and to her proud sisier Kelly praise and <br />congratulations for their evident contribution to Erin's success <br /> <br /> Section 3 That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Erin Bartlett, and that a copy of <br />this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
