<br />Resolution No~ <br /> <br />8181-06 <br /> <br />By' <br />Antonio, Butler, Demro, Dever, <br />FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION to proclaim the month of May as Motorcycle Awareness Month in the <br />City of Lakewood, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood joins the Governor of the State of Ohio in <br />encouraging all Ohio motorists and motorcyclists to use extra caution during this month and <br />throughout the year to make Ohio's roads safe for everyone; and; <br /> <br />WHEREAs, Ohio is a national leader in motorcycle registration and productìon, with <br />nearly six hundred thousand Ohioans using motorcycles for touring, recreation, competition and <br />daily transportation each year; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Concerned Motorcycle Riders of Ohio is a state-wide, non-profit <br />organization dedicated to promoting rider safety and education, addressing legislative concerns, <br />and supporting charitable efforts in the community in an effort to make Ohio's highways safer <br />and more enjoyable for our motorcyclists; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the number of motorcyclists on Ohio's roadways increases significantly as <br />the weather warms, creating an urgent need for increased awareness by the motoring public <br />Now therefore" <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY TIlE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1 That this Council and Mayor join with the Governor of Ohio in declaring May <br />as Motorcycle Awareness Month in the City of Lakewood <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to forward a copy <br />of this Resolution to· Ms. Maggie Kimble, concerned Motorcycle Rider of Ohio, and that a copy <br />of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting <br /> <br />Section 3, It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted''''1v-'( I, 2-oó 6 <br /> <br />Ç?~ j~ <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br />C~c¡ 7. ~, <br /> <br />Approved' ~)¡ /Jr?ot; <br /> <br />M~~l'/~ <br />
