Dever <br />FitzGerald, Madígan, Seelie. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor as Director of Public Safety, on behalf of the <br />City, to proclaim May 14-20, 2006 as Emergency Medical Services Week: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the survival and <br />recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or injury; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams are ready to provide <br />lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, EMS is out-of-hospital patient care; ambulance transport; prevention; first <br />response; and an arm of public health; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, paramedics and emergency medical technicians engage in thousands of <br />hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, emergency medical services is a vital public service; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the value and accompilshments of emergency <br />medical services providers by designating Emergency Medical Services Week <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO' <br /> <br />Section 1, That this Council and Mayor declare May 14-20" 2006 as Emergency <br />Medical Services Week in the City of Lakewood <br /> <br />Section 2 That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a copy this Resolution to; Chief Lawrence E Mroz, Fire Station No <br />1, 14601 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio and a that a copy of this Resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this meeting <br /> <br />Section 3 It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such fOrmal action were in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all legal requirements <br /> <br />~,~ <br /> <br />AdoPted~) / Sì J-dð-6 <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br />~~ ], h!~ <br /> <br />Approved ~ /7" ')oó~ <br /> <br />'~.~ <br />MAYOR / <br />
