<br /> RESOLUTION NO 8129-Q6 By~ Antonio, Butler, Demro, Dever, <br /> FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie. <br /> 'A RESOLUTION proclaiming September 26, 2006 as Casey Coleman Day in the <br /> City of Lakewood. <br /> WHEREAS, in the world of sports, the clang of cliche' and the sap of self- <br /> importance abound like tom muscles in training camp, and <br /> WHEREAS, the people who commentate and pontificate the meaning of the <br /> game often grow aloof as the bleachers behind the bullpen; and <br /> WHEREAS, our town has been blessed with a sportscaster who, no matter how <br /> important the play, how huge the game, or how deafening the crowd, has always found <br /> time on his stadium clock to lend quiet encouragement, offer renewal of spirit and inspire <br /> the most noble values within us, and <br /> WHEREAS, Casey Coleman is a loyal voice for kindness as much as a voice for <br /> the home team-- who has exhibited quiet humility in an industry charged with chest <br /> thumping, hot dogging and show boating; and <br /> WHEREAS, A Samaritan who has given his most precious quantity--time and <br /> empathy-so willingly to others who have struggled as he has, now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OffiO: <br /> SECTION 1, That on this day, September 26, 2006, the City of Lakewood turns <br /> its smiling eyes on a most valuable player who has put IN so much more than he has <br /> taken OUT: <br /> SECTION 2 Be it further resolved that the people of Lakewood, from every <br /> block, arena, sandlot, and playground- jocks and non jocks alike, rise in mighty cheer for <br /> Casey Coleman's Band-slam goodness and touch-down dignity, and celebrate the gifts of <br /> his demeanor, his chazacter, his humor and his calming voice. <br /> SECTION 3. Let it finally be resolved that we proclaim --as we are rounding <br /> third and. heading home--, "Casey Coleman Day" and thank him for being the best damn <br /> sports guy ever. <br /> SECTION 4.
