RESOLUTION NO 8136-06 BY' Antonio, Butler, Demro, <br /> Dever, FitzGerald, Madigan. <br /> A RESOLUTION calling upon the citizens of Lakewood to participate in fire prevention <br /> activities at home, work and school, and to heed the message. "Prevent Cooking Fires Watch <br /> What You Heat" as the 2006 Fire Prevention Week theme suggests. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is dedicated to reducing the occurrence of fires and <br /> injuries through prevention and education; and, <br /> WHEREAS, safety from fire is important to both citizens and local firefighters who put <br /> their lives on the line with every response to fire; and, <br /> WHEREAS, three in ten reported home fires start in the kitchen -more than any other <br /> place in the home, and, <br /> WHEREAS, unattended cooking is the leading cause of <br /> home cooking foes; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Division of Fire is dedicated to the safety of life and property from the <br /> devastating effects of fire; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Fire Prevention Week 2006 theme, "Prevent Cooking Fires' Watch <br /> What You Heat" is zn important reminder for all citizens of Lakewood to use proper care when <br /> cooking. Now therefore; <br /> BE TT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor designate and proclaim October 9th - 13'", 2006 <br /> as Fire Prevention Week in the City of Lakewood and call upon the citizens of Lakewood to <br /> participate in fire prevenfion activifies at home, work and school. <br /> Section 2 That the Clerk of CouncIl be and she is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> forwazd a copy this Resolution to' Chief Lawrence E, Mroz, Fire Station No. 1, 14601 Madison <br /> Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio and a that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this. <br /> meeting. <br /> Section 3.
