RESOLUTION NO. 8146-06 <br /> <br />FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie, <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of at least five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, it shall take effect and <br />be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, amending Resolution 8127-06 <br />authorizing the Director of the Department of Human Services, on behalf of the City to <br />enter into an Agreement with the Cuyahoga County Board 6f Health to accept additiona[ <br />funds for purposes of developing and maintaining a strong public health infrastructure <br />to address bioterrorism and other public health threats, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal Government set aside addiUonal public health <br />infrastructure funds targeting pandemic influenza preparedness planning; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood has been awarded $16,110.87 in addition to the <br />$23,923.00 awarded in September 2006 for public health capacity and core leadership <br />development, workforce development, com'munication infrastructure and risk <br />communication, epidemiology and disease surveillance and mass vaccination and <br />prophylaxis preparedness; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall <br />take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and <br />to provide the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that the project year <br />began August 31, 2006 and this new agreement is necessary to continue the program. <br />Now Therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Resolution No. 8127-06, adopted September 5, 2006 currently <br />reading as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of the Department of Human <br />Services is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City, to enter into an <br />Agreement with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to accept and <br />expend funds in the amount of $23,923.00 for purposes of developing agd <br />maintaining a strong public health infrastructure to address bioterrorism <br />and other public health threats. <br /> <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section t. That the Director of the Department of Human <br />Services is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City, to enter into an <br />Agreement with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to accept funds in <br />the amount of $40,034.44 for purposes of developing and maintaining a <br />strong public health infrastructure to address bioterrorism and other public <br />health threats. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were passed in an open <br />meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Coundl and any of its <br /> <br /> <br />
