RESOLUTION NO, 8146-06A By: Antonio, B£~tler, Demro, <br /> Dever, FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of at least five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, it shall take effect and <br />be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, amending Resolution No. 8146-06, <br />adopted November 6, 2006, authorizing the Director of the Department of Human <br />Services, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with the Cuyahoga County <br />Board of Health to accept additional funds for purposes of developing and maintaining a <br />Strong public health infrastructure to address bioterrorism and other public health <br />threats in an amount not to exceed $45,000. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal Government set aside additional public health <br />infrastructure funds target ng pandemic influenza preparedness planning; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood has been awarded over $40,000 in 2006 for public health <br />capacity and core leadership development, workforce development, communication <br />infrastructure and risk communication, epidemiology and disease surveillance and mass <br />vaccination and prophylaxis preparedness; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Coundl by a vote of at least five (S) members elected thereto <br />determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall <br />take effect at the eadiest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and <br />to provide the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that the project year is <br />already underway. Now Therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY TIlE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Resolu§on No. 8146-06, adopted November 6, 2006, currently <br />reading as follows: <br /> <br /> Section :L That the Mayor or his designee Js hereby authorized, <br />on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with the Cuyahoga <br />County Board of Health to accept and expend funds in the total amount of <br />$40,034.00 for purposes of developing and maintaining a strong public <br />health infrastructure to address pandemic influenza preparedness and <br />other public health issues. <br /> <br /> Section 2, It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were <br />passed in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this <br />Council and any of its committees that resulted in such actions were in <br />meetings open to the public and in compliance with legal requirements. <br /> <br />shall be and is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor or his designee is hereby authorized, on <br />behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with the Cuyahoga County <br />Board of Health to accept and expend funds in the total amount of <br />$45,000 for purposes of developing and maintaining a strong public health <br />infrastructure to address pandemic influenza preparedness and other <br />public health issues, <br /> <br /> Section 2.
