RESOLUTION NO 8159-07 <br /> <br />FitzGerald, Madigan. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION commending Lakewood's Community Emergency <br />Response Team (CERT) on their exceptional service to our community <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, earlier this month a troubled young man threatened to ignite <br />canisters of flammable materials at his residence on Fry Ave in which Lakewood Police, <br />Fire and West Shore Swat teams were immediately dispatched along with Lakewood's <br />volunteer CERT Team, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, CERT members applied the expertise they eanmd fronl hours <br />of extensive training to successfully aide in the evacuation of residents, organize <br />temporary shelters and cahn alarmed spectators with consistent, and accurate <br />information, m~d <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the training and oversight provided by co-coordinators <br />Administrative Assistant Meegan McKenna, Fire Marshal Scott Gilman and the able <br />direction of CERT commander Richard Healy deserve public cognizance m~d <br />recognition, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, m~der the direction of CERT commander Richard Heal y, the <br />volunteer group was able to reconcile the demands created by a serious situation with <br />courage and cmnpassion; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEwooD, STATE O~ OHIO' <br /> <br /> Section 1 That this Council and Mayor wish to commend the Lakewood CERT <br />(Community Emergency Response Team) on behalf of all of the citizens of Lakewood <br /> <br /> Section 2.
