RESOLUTION NO. 8~6~.o7 BY: Antonio~ Butler, Demrp, Dever, FitzGerald, Madigan. A RESOLUTION adopting an updated Countywide All Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan for Cuyahoga County. WHEREAS, Hazard Mitigation is any sustainable action taken to reduce or eliminate damage from future disasters; and WHEREAS~ the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 requires all communities that desire to apply for mitigation programs to have an all-natural hazard mitigation plan; and WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners received a grant for the Cuyahoga County Division of Emergency Services to prepare such a mitigation plan which is entitled the "Countywide All Natural HaZards Mitigation P~an for Cuyahoga County"; and WHEREAS, in 2004 Coundl adopted the All Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan for Cuyahoga County; and WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood was recently notified by Cuyahoga County that the Plan was updated to meet Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requirements; and WHEREAS, the~e must be documentation that the updated plan has been formally adopted by Lakewood City Council and every other governing body within Cuyahoga County. Now, therefore BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO Section 1. The Council of the City of Lakewood d(~es hereby adopt the updated Countywide All Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan for Cuyahoga County, a copy of which is on file in Council's Office. Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements.
