RESOLUTION NO 8168-07 BY' Antonio, Butler, Demro, <br /> Dever, FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Charles E, Barrett for his public service in the <br />Division of Housing and Building for the City of Lakewood <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Charles E. Barrett, along with his wife Marilyn, after having raised <br />three sons, Joe, Patrick, and Andy, will now enjoy the leisure time afforded to him upon <br />retiring to spend time visiting their sons and their families in Portland, Oregon and also <br />enjoying daily the company of his two canine companions, Woody and Annie; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, upon his retirement effective April 3, 2007, Charles E Barrett <br />completed over 30 years of public service with the City of Lakewood, first as a <br />Commercial Building Inspector, then the Assistaht Building Commissioner for the <br />Commercial Division; and for the last seven years as the Building Commissioner in the <br />Division of Building Inspection serving as the State Certified Chief Building Official for <br />the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Division of Building Inspection, Charles E. <br />Barrett has been recognized as a loyal and dedicated employee who rendered <br />outstanding service not only to the Division of Housing and Building but to the entire <br />community; anc <br /> <br /> WHEREAS. it is fitting and proper that the public service rendered by Charles E <br />Barrett be given eublic cognizance and recognition: now therefor6 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CiTY OF LAKEWOOD STATE OF OHIO' <br /> <br /> Section 1 That this Council ana Mayor nereey extend to Building Commissioner <br />Charles E Barrett their appreciation and that of all cf the citizens of this community for <br />his over 30 years of public service as a Commercial Building Inspector Assistanl <br />Building Commissioner for the Commercia~ Division and Building Commissioner and <br />further tnaz this Council and Mayor wish him continued years of health happiness aha <br />prosperity in his retirement <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to forward <br />a copy of this Resolution to Charles E Barrett and that a copy of this Resolution oe <br />spread uoon the minutes 3f the meeting <br /> <br /> Section 3 That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immeo ate preservation of the public peace, property, ~ealth. safety <br />and welfare in the City and for the usual daily operation of the City for the reasons set <br />forth and defined in the preamble to this resolution and provided ~t receives the <br />affirmative vote of at least five f5) of its members elected to Council this resolution shall <br />take effect aha be in force immediately upon its adootion by the Council and approval <br />by the Mayor otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after earliest period allowed <br />by law <br /> <br /> <br />
