RESOLUTION NO: BY: <br /> 8169-07 Antonio, Butler, Demro, Dever, <br /> FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION declaring the week of April 2nd - 8m, 2007 as Public Health <br />Week in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> Whereas most Americans remain largely unprepared for a public <br />health emergency and only a small percentage of Americans have any plans in <br />place to resPond to the next emergency, whether natural or man-made; and <br /> <br /> Whereas emergency preparedness for some of the nation's most <br />vulnerable populations is an even greater challenge and the nation's most <br />vulnerable populations are often impacted disproportionately by public health <br />emergencies; and <br /> <br /> Whereas comPrehensive and coordinated plans Should be in place at <br />schools, daycare centers and homes to safeguard children from health <br />emergencies; and <br /> <br /> Whereas all communities must plan in advance to ensure their <br />residents can respond effectively to a public health emergency; <br /> <br /> Whereas the City of Lakewood is among those local governments in <br />collaboration with state and federal agencies and numerous organizations that are <br />making every effort to educate Americans about what they need to do to prepare <br />for the next emergency; and <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor designete and proclaim April 2- 8m, 2007 <br />as Public Health Week in the City of Lakewood, <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed <br />to forWard a copy this Resolution to: D0ttie Buckon, 12650 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, <br />Ohio and a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br /> Section 3, It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br /> concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open <br /> · meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br /> committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in <br />· compliance with ail legal requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />President of Council <br /> <br />Clerk of 06uncil <br /> <br />Mayor ~ / <br /> <br /> <br />
