Resolution No <br /> 8179-07 By' Antonio, Butler~ Demro, Dever, <br /> <br /> FitzGErald, Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor as Director of Public Safety, on behalf of <br />the City, to proclaim May 20-26th, 2007 as Emergency Medical Se~¥ices Week' <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the survival <br />and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or injury; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services*teams are ready to <br />provide lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, EMS is out-of-hospital patient care; ambulance transport; <br />prevention; first response; and an arm of public health; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, paramedics and emergency medical technicians engage in <br />thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their <br />lifesaving skills; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this year's theme, "Extraordinary People, Extraordinary Service", <br />exemplifies the excellent services provided every day, under any circumstances, by the <br />EMS providers who serve this community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the value and accomplishments of <br />emergency medical services providers by designating Emergency Medical Services <br />Week Now Therefore; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO' <br /> <br /> Section 1, That this Council and Mayor declare May 20-26th 2007 as Emergency <br />Medical Services Week in the City of Lakewood <br /> <br /> Section 2, That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a copy this Resolution to: Chief Lawrence E Mroz, Fire Station No <br />1, 14601 Madison Avenue, Lakewood; Ohio and a that a copy 0f this Resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this meeting <br /> <br /> Section 3 It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public Jn <br />compliance with all legal requirements ~ ~ <br /> <br /> PR <br /> <br /> <br />
