RESOLUTION NO: 8190-07A <br /> <br />Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of at least five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, it shall take effect and <br />be in force at the e~rliest pedod allowed by law, amending Resolution No. 8190-07, <br />authorizing the Director of the Department of Human Services, on behalf of the City, to <br />enter into an Agreement with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to accept and <br />expend funds for purposes of developing and maintaining a strong public health <br />infrastructure, specifically to build out the Cities' Readiness Initiative. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal Government set aside funding to aid cities in increasing <br />their capacity to deliver medicines and medical supplies during a large-scale public <br />health emergency such as a bioterrofism attack or a nuclear accident; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood has been awarded an additional $3,412.44 for a physical <br />security assessment of the Division of Health building and the Great Lakes Border <br />conference costs. These funds are in addition to the initial $15,524.36 designated for <br />development of the CRI plan and voluntee~ recruitment funding. All funds must be <br />used by August 31, 2007; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this Resolution is an emergency measure, and that this Resolution shall <br />take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTiCLE III, SECTIONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and <br />to provide the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that the project year <br />ends August 31, 2007. Now Therefore, <br /> <br />BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Resolution No. 8190-07, adopted 3uly 2, 2007, currenUy <br />reading as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of the Department of Human Services <br />is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement <br />with the Cuyahoga COunty Board of Health to accept and expend funds in <br />the amount of $10,524.36 in per capita funding for development of the <br />CRI plan and $5,000.00 in volunteer recruitment funding for a total of <br />$15,524.36 in funds to be used by August 31, 2007. <br /> <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of the Department of Human Services <br />is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement <br />with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to accept and expend funds in <br />the amount of $18936.80 for development of the CRI plan, volunteer <br />recruitment, a physical assessment of the Division of Health building and <br />conference costs to be used by August 31, 2007; <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relaUng to the passage of this Resolution were passed in <br />an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and any <br />of its committees that resulted in such actions were in meetings open to the <br />public and in compliance with legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety <br /> <br /> <br />
