RESOLU'F~ON NO. 8191-o7 <br /> <br />FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie, <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION supporting the grant application by the Division of Police to <br />the Ohio Attorney General's Office for funding for the City's Drug Abuse Resistance <br />Education program, and commending the Division of Police for its continued <br />efforts to educate young people of the City of Lakewood as to the hazards of <br />alcohol and drugs, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Division of Police (Police) has operated the Drug Abuse <br />Resistance Education (D,A.R,E.) program since :L990; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Police are currently operating D.A.R.E. programs in all <br />elementary and middle schools within the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the D.A;R.E. program has a positive influence on the young <br />people of the City through education as to the hazards of alcohol and drugs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the number o~f students participating in and graduating from the <br />D.A.R.E. program increases annually; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, funding to support the continued operation of the D,A,R,E. <br />program is available from the Ohio Attorney General's office. Now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE tZ RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor and the Council hereby support the grant <br />application by the Division of Police to the Ohio Attorney General's Office for the <br />funding for the city's Drug Abuse Resistance Education program, <br /> <br /> Section 2~ That the Mayor and Council hereby support the Division of <br />Police for its Continued efforts in educating young people of the City as to the <br />hazards of alcohol and drugs, <br /> <br /> Section 3. ~t is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in <br />an open meeting of this Council~ and that all such deliberations of this Council and <br />Of any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions were in meetings <br />open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br /> <br />
