WHEREAS: this Council recognizes that the stability of <br />Iraq is crucial to the security of the citizens of <br />Lakewood and to all Americans; now, therefore, <br /> <br />Be it resolved by the City of Lakewood, State of Ohio: <br /> <br />Section 1. This Council calls on the United States <br />government to conmlit and develop a firm strategy and <br />timetable to begin the orderly and comprehensive <br />withdrawal of U.S. military personnel and bases from <br />Iraq as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Section 2: That this Council urges the United States <br />Congress to pass legislation prohibiting the President <br />from spending taxpayer dollars on any new escalation in <br />Iraq, or expansion of the conflict beyond Iraq borders. <br /> <br />SeGtion 3. That this Council urges the United States <br />Congress to make meeting the needs of the people of the <br />U.S., including Ohio, an immediate budgetary priorlty, <br />including the rebuilding of the dangerous ?rumbling <br />U.S. infrastructure. <br /> <br />Section 4. That a copy of this resolution be sent to <br />all elected officials in the state of Ohio, to the <br />North East Ohio and National media, to US Cities for <br />Peace, to the Congressional delegation from the State <br />of Ohio and to the President of the United States. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />PP, SES~D ENT <br /> <br />M'FXSCOR /I / <br /> <br /> <br />
