<br />WHEREAS, Building Ohio Jobs will invest $100 million in Bioproducts and solidify Ohio <br />as the national leader in this industry as we make new products from the crops we grow; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Ohio Jobs will invest $200 million in Ohio's Biomedical Industry <br />and will encourage innovation, development and commercialization of biomedical and <br />biotechnological products; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Ohio Jobs will invest $150 million in Ohio's Logistics and <br />Distribution Infrastructure and will help create a seamless multi modal transportation <br />infrastructure across the state, linking rails, roads, waterways and airports. This <br />infrastructure investment, combined with Ohio's strategic location, will spur economic <br />development and further attract and create jobs in our state. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That the City of Lakewood does hereby supports and endorses the <br />passage of Building Ohio Jobs in that said investment will improve the quality of life for <br />Ohioans. <br /> <br />SECTION 2: The Clerk of Council is hereby directed to forward certified copies of this <br />Resolution immediately upon passage and approval to Governor Strickland. <br /> <br />SECTION 3: It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to this Resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal actions were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements, <br />including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br />SECTION 4: That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, <br />health, safety and welfare in the City and for the usual daily operation of the City for <br />the reasons set forth and defined in the preamble to this resolution, and provided it <br />
