Resolution No: s2~1-os Antonio, Bulio~k, <br />ButlerByDever, Madigan, Powers, <br />Summers. <br />A RESOLUTION to proclaim the start of classes each school year through September 30`h to be a <br />time of Child Safety and Speed Awareness in the City of Lakewood. <br />WHEREAS, As a pedestrian friendly community with over 9,000 school age children, <br />providing our children with a safe environment is one of the most important resources we can <br />provide for our community; and, <br />WHEREAS, The Lakewood Early Childhood PTA and the Lakewood Division of Police have <br />collaborated once again and will continue to sponsor and implement the "Brake 4 Kids" tree lawn sign <br />program to raise speed awareness and provide a safe environment for our children and the many <br />pedestrians who use our neighborhood streets; and, <br />WHEREAS, A major goal of our safety enforcement program is education and the <br />ultimate goal of our traffic laws is to obtain voluntary compliance for our citizens. Getting the <br />message out to our residents through this unique Speed Awareness Program will assist our safety <br />forces in our continuing efforts to make our community a safer place for our children, <br />pedestrians and all of our citizens. Now therefore; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO. <br />Section I That this Council and Mayor hereby recognize the start of classes each school year through <br />September 30th tp be a time of Child Safety and Speed Awareness in the City of Lakewood in support <br />of the efforts put forth by the Lakewood Early Childhood PTA and the Lakewood Division of Police. <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br />action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />Adopted' ~' y/`~`O~ <br />Approved: ~~~-` v <br />~~ lit/ ~ ~------ <br />President <br />
