RESOLUTION NO. 8293-08 BY: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, Dever, <br />Madigan, Powers, Summers. <br />A RESOLUTION commending Ryan Patrick Demro for his public service as <br />Councilmember in Ward 2 of the City of Lakewood. <br />WHEREAS, Ryan Patrick Demro was elected to the office of Council of the City <br />of Lakewood for the term commencing January 1, 2004, and served continuously in that capacity <br />until December 31, 2007, and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Demro served our community with distinction while amassing a <br />list of accomplishments that included the expansion of child protection laws, construction of the <br />skateboard park, the renovation of the YMCA, discovery and. promotion of the Lakewood <br />Project band, promotion of cleaner refuse initiatives and many others, and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Demro was instrumental in the passage of Charter <br />Amendments in the City, one allowing employees of the Lakewood Board of Election to serve <br />on Lakewood Council, the other allowing for non-partisan elections, and <br />WHEREAS, during his tenure as a Councilmember, Mr. Demro was recognized <br />as a conscientious, energetic, tenacious legislator, courageous enough to criticize his colleagues <br />when he thought they were wrong; resilient enough to work through their criticism when they <br />thought he was, and <br />WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the outstanding public service rendered <br />by Ryan Patrick Demro be given public cognizance and recognition; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOVLED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWODO, STATE OF OHIO:. <br />Section 1. That this Council and Mayor extend to Ryan. Patrick Demro <br />appreciation and that of all of the citizens of this community for his years of distinguished public <br />service as a Councilmember of Ward 2 in the City of Lakewood and further wish him continued <br />years of success, health, happiness and prosperity in the days and years ahead. <br />Section 2.
