RESOLUTION NO. 8320-08 BY: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, Dever, Madigan, Powers , ~ Suimne rs . A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of Frank D. Murtaugh, Jr. for his many and varied contributions to the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, Frank Murtaugh was a consistent voice in local government who provided focused, principled guidance on many issues facing the City, and WHEREAS, Frank Murtaugh volunteered his time, effort and expertise for the betterment of Lakewood by serving on the Lakewood Community Emergency Response Team, the Citizens Advisory Committee, the Board of Zoning Appeals, and the Joint Veterans Council of Lakewood and Rocky River, and WHEREAS, Frank Murtaugh was an outspoken advocate of veterans affairs, providing context and clarity when veteran issues arose on the local level at the same time donating his legal services to military personnel being deployed to the Middle East, and WHEREAS, Frank Murtaugh was never hesitant to voice his opinions on viewpoints he disagreed with but did so in a style of profound decency which earned him the esteem of public officials who often benefited from his advice and counsel but more often benefited from his personal friendship; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1. That this Council and Mayor hereby extend to the family of Frank Murtaugh, a sincere expression of condolence and further wish to express appreciation and the appreciation of all of the citizens of this community for Frank's dedicated service to the Lakewood community. SECTION 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the family of Mr. Frank D.
