<br />Resolution No: <br /> <br />8357-08 <br /> <br />By: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, De,ver, <br />FitzGerald, Madigan, PowersShmmers. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor, as Director of Public Safety and on behalf of the City <br />of Lakewood, to proclaim May 18-24, 2008 as Emergency Medical Services Week: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the emergency <br />emergency nurses, paramedics, <br />administrators and others; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams engage in thousands of hours <br />of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills; and <br /> <br />medical services system consists of emergency physicians, <br />emergency medical technicians, firefighters, educators, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, EMS Week celebrates the EMS providers who serve their communities to not only <br />save lives, but to educate the public in areas of injury prevention and healthy living; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this year's theme, "Your Life is Our Mission", exemplifies the excellent services <br />provided every day, under any circumstances, by the EMS providers who serve this community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is proper and timely to bring recognition to the value and accomplishments of <br />such dedicated men and women who often protect our most vulnerable populations, by designating <br />Emergency Medical Services Week; Now there fore: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That this Council and Mayor declare May 18-24, 2008 as Emergency Medical <br />Services Week in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to fOrward a <br />copy this Resolution to: Chief Lawrence E. Mroz, Fire Station No.1, 14601 Madison Avenue, <br />Lakewood, Ohio and a that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />APPm"d~ f¡ ,J.ð1Jf{ <br /> <br />Section 3.
