RESOLUTION NO. 8545-i i <br />By; Anderson, Juris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers, Smith. <br />A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it received the affirmative vote of <br />at least five (5) members of Council or otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the <br />earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the Mayor as Director of Public Safety, on behalf of <br />the City, to enter into an Agreement with Cuyahoga County to accept and expend funds in the <br />amount of $48,419 from the Port Security Grant Program. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood, Division of Fire has received notice of an award for <br />port security from Cuyahoga County in the amount of $48,419; and <br />WHEREAS, the grant requires atwenty-five percent (25%) match equaling $16,140 from <br />the City of Lakewood; and <br />WHEREAS, acceptance of these funds will allow the Division of Fire to purchase a boat <br />and necessary equipment for safe water rescues; and <br />WHEREAS, this equipment fits in with the North Shore regional water rescue plans; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall take effect <br />at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III; SECTONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND <br />AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the <br />immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual <br />daily operation of municipal departments in that this resolution is necessary to enter into the <br />grant agreement in a timely manner. Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. The Mayor as Director of Public Safety, on behalf of the City, is hereby <br />authorized to enter into an Agreement with Cuyahoga County to accept and expend funds in the <br />amount of $48,419 from the Port Security Grant Program. <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this <br />council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in <br />
