RESCLUTICN NO. 8499-11 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Surfs, Madigan, Nowling., Powers, Smith. A RESCLU T ICN to take effect immediately provided it received the affirmative vote of at feast five (5) members of Council or otherwise, or otherwise it shall take effect and be n force after the earliest period a;io~~,~ed by law authorizing the Mayor (Directar of Public Safety), on behalf of the City of Lakewood, is hereby authorized td give away up to (10} abandoned bicyc{es, that v~ould otherwise be auctioned, for use as prizes to be given away at the Bike Rodeo hosted by the takevrood Divisor of Police. WHEREAS, the Lakewood Division of Police will be besting a Bike Rodeo for residents to promote bicycle `safety; and WHEREAS, the Lake~a~ood Police Department is ~~ possession of numerous abandoned bicycles that are of little value if disposed of through aditionai auctions; and tNHEREAS, this Councii by a vote of at least five (5} of its members determines that this resolution is an emergency measure; and. that this resolution shaA take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in !s2TICLE iII, SEGTCNS 10 and 13 of the SECCND AMENDED CHARTER Ci= THE COY C?F ~KEInJOCD, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the p!!b!ic property, heath and safety, and to provide for the usual. daily operation of municipal departments in that the event is scheduled for June ii, 2011. Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEVt~CCD, STA ~ c CF OHIC: Section 1.
