RESOLUTION NO. 8502-11 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers, Smith. <br />A RESOLUTION expressing appreciation to the Steel Valley Credit Union for <br />their contribution in establishing the Lakewood Bike Rodeo Program and authorizing the <br />Mayor or his designee to accept a donation of money and material in an amount <br />estimated at $1,000.00 for ongoing support of the Lakewood. Bike Rodeo safety efforts. <br />WHEREAS, the Steel Valley Credit Union made an exceptional contribution to <br />this endeavor by purchasing the Bike Rodeo Kit that provided City of Lakewood Division <br />of Police with the necessary information to establish a Bike Rodeo Program; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood, Division of Police conducted the second <br />Lakewood Bike Rodeo on June 11, 2011 to encourage bicycle safety by conducting <br />lessons in bicycle safety, providing bicycle helmets and tips on keeping a bicycle in <br />proper condition; and <br />WHEREAS, the Steel Valley Credit Union is now in its second year of generosity <br />and support of the Lakewood Bicycle Rodeo through involvement with planning the <br />event, providing volunteers, equipment and refreshments, and a cash donation to <br />secure the future of this endeavor; now, therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Council, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, express <br />their sincere gratitude to Steel Valley Credit Union for their contribution to the another <br />successful Bike Rodeo, and Council authorizes the Mayor or his designee to accept a <br />donation valued at approximately $1,000.00, consisting of a cash donation of $500.,00 <br />and additional supplies and equipment, for ongoing support of the Lakewood Bike <br />Rodeo safety efforts. <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal actions were in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />~ 1/ <br />Mayor <br />7 <br />Jerk <br />
