RESOLUTION NO. 8510-11 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, <br />Madigan, Nowlin, Smith. <br />A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor to accept, on behalf of the City of <br />Lakewood, an official state historical marker to identify Lakewood Parkas a <br />historical site from the Ohio Historical Society which was funded by the Lakewood <br />Historical Society using Cuyahoga Arts and Culture Grant funds in the amount of <br />$2,850. <br />WHEREAS, the Lakewood Historical Society and City of Lakewood jointly <br />submitted an application for a historical marker through the Ohio Historical <br />Society's Historical Markers Program; and <br />WHEREAS, the Historical Society generously funded this maker using grant <br />funds awarded through the Cuyahoga Arts and Culture Grant Program; and <br />WHEREAS, the marker will be installed near the stone wall at the front of <br />the park which was estate wall of "The Hickories", the home of Robert R. Rhodes <br />that was later used as a hospital annex after being purchased by the City and then <br />as City Hall. Now, therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That the Mayor to accept, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, <br />an official State of Ohio Historical Marker funded by the Lakewood Historical <br />Society for placement at Lakewood Park. <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in <br />an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and <br />of any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions were in meetings <br />open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />Adopted: ( 20l/ <br />Approved: ~ 'log/ <br />Presi ent <br />t <br />Clerk <br />~ ,,,~„`~ <br />~~~~~ ' <br />Mayor <br />
