<br />A RESOLUTION to commend Jacob A. Schneider upon attaining the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy
<br />Scouts ofAmerica.
<br />WHEREAS, an Eagle Scout rank is reached by only one out of a thousand Boy Scouts; given only to those
<br />Scouts who have earned a minimum of 21 merit badges and have completed an extensive service project the Scout
<br />plans, organizes, leads, and manages, and
<br />WHEREAS, Jacob Schneider has been active in scouting since the second grade and a Boy Scout in
<br />Lakewood Troop 287, meeting at Lakewood Catholic Academy since January, 2006 currently benefiting from the
<br />motivation and guidance of his Scoutmaster Eric Augustine, and
<br />WHEREAS, Jacob Schneider earned the exceptional distinction of Eagle Scout June 28, 2011, with his
<br />Court of Honor date October 1, 2011, and
<br />WHEREAS, at this juncture Jacob Schneider has earned 29 merit badges in the following; Emergency
<br />Preparedness, First Aid, Personal Management, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship
<br />in the World, Environmental Science, Reading, Architecture, Swimming, Canoeing, Art, Pottery, Camping,
<br />Cooking, Mammal study, Pioneering, Pulp and paper, Personal fitness, Family life, Basketry, Leatherwork, Small
<br />boat sailing, Archery, Geology, Indian lore, Motor boating, Weather, and Wood carving sculpture, and
<br />WHEREAS, Jacob's chosen service project involved amassing 300 volunteer hours in deconstructing then
<br />re-building an inner-city playground at St. Malachi Center using his own design and securing donations reaching
<br />beyond himself in true Scout Spirit, and
<br />WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that Jacob A. Schneider be given public cognizance and recognition
<br />for attaining the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America; now, therefore,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO:
<br />Section 1. That this Council and Mayor of the City of Lakewood commend Jacob A. Schneider on behalf of
<br />the Citizens of Lakewood for achieving the Boy Scouts of America's highest rank; Eagle Scout.
<br />Section 2. That this Council and Mayor further wish to recognize Jacob's parents Dori and Carl Schneider
<br />whose support, encouragement and love are aptly reflected in their son's achievements.
<br />Section 3. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of
<br />this Resolution to Jacob A. Schneider and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
