RESOLUTION NO. 8573-12 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Suris, Madigan, Nowlin, Smith. A RESOLUTION to honor the St. Edward High School Wrestling Team on capturing their 27`~ state wrestling crown. WHEREAS, it has become common to refer to Lakewood's St. Edwazd High School as the "Home of Champions" in good part due to a phenomenal wrestling program which has qualified a record number of champion wrestlers, and WHEREAS, the team clinched the title and accumulated a Division I record of 223.5 having finished with four state champs and eight additional state placers; Alex Moore, second place, Colin Heffernan, fourth place, Dean Heil, first place, Edgaz Bright, second place, Nick Barber, third place, Mazkus Scheidel, second place, Matt VanCuren, seventh place, Jacob Davis, fourth place, Mark Martin, first place, Domenic Abounader, first place, James Suvak, second place, Ty Walz, first place, and WHEREAS, this Couhcil is awed and inspired by the commitment to excellence demonstrated time and time again by the students and faculty of St. Edward High School; a collective team of champions, and WHEREAS, by their outstanding accomplishments, the St. Edwazd High School Eagles Wrestling Team has brought due recognition and honor not only to themselves but to the entire Lakewood community; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF~LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. On behalf_of the residents of Lakewood, this Council extends to the Lakewood St: Edward High School Wrestling Team congratulations for its outstanding achievements during the 2011-2012 high school wrestling season. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be, and is hereby authorized to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Lakewood's St, Edward High School Eagles Wrestling Team c/o Coach, Urbas; St.Edward High School, and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
