RESOLUTION NO. 8594-12 BY' Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, Nowlin, Powers, Smith. A RESOLUTION recognizing and commending the St. Edward High School Rugby Team for winning the Division I State Championship capping a perfect season. WHEARES, The St. Edward Eagles Rugby ended the season with an amazing (15-0)record, and WHEREAS, the contributions of team members Joseph D'Amico, Spencer Downey, Gavin Dunn, Ronan Forrestal, Daniel Gaertner, Matthew Gaertner, Jae Ginley, Austin Heider, Daniel Heisterkamp, Jr., Ian Hildebrandt, Ryan Konys, Timothy Lowe, Bryan Luke, William Macfarlane III, Niall McNamara, Daniel Peyton, Porter Ramsey, Jack Roche, Dean Salem, Matthew Sanfillippo, Jacob Simonson, Jacob Tennant, Rodney Thomas, Kevin Trickel, and Owen Weir, have been exceptional, and WHEREAS, the residents of the City of Lakewood are proud of these young athletes and their dedicated team effort, and WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that the accomplishments of the St. Edward High School Rugby Team be given public cognizance and recognition in a formal resolution; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1 That the Mayor and Lakewood City Council would like to congratulate the St. Edward High School Rugby Team for their outstanding accomplishments in the 2012 season and for their success in so ably and honorably representing the City of Lakewood in competition with other high schools across the state. Section 2. That we further wish to recognize the crucial roles St. Edward High School Rugby Team Head Coach Brian Lewis, Assistant Coach Mike Walsh and Team Parent Dan Martello played in this spectacular season. Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to forward a copy this Resolution to the St. Edward High School Rugby Team, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting Adopted: ~~~ ~ ~ 2u l 2~ Approved: G,s-~~ ~
