RESOLUTION NO. 8609-12 By; Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, <br />Nowlin, Powers, Smith. <br />A RESOLUTION calling upon the citizens of Lakewood to participate in fire prevention <br />activities at home, and to heed the message, "Have 2 Ways Out!" as the 2012 Fire Prevention Week <br />theme suggests. <br />\\~I IEREAS, the Lakewood Fire Department is dedicated to reducing the occurrence of home fire <br />injuries through prevention education; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lakewood Pire Prevention Bureau will eisit elementary schools from October 8"' <br />through October I2"', to speak to the children about the importance of having hvo fire escape plans, and <br />demonshate firefighting equipment; and <br />WI IBREAS, residents who have planned and practiced a home fire escape plan are more prepared <br />and will therefore be more likely to survive a fire; and <br />\\~HEREAS, the 2012 Fire Prevention Week Theme, "Have 2 Ways Out!" effectivel}~ serves to <br />remind us all of the simple actions we can take to stay sate from fire injuries at home. Now therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAICEWOOD, OI-110: <br />Section I. 'T'hat this Council and Mayor designate and proclaim October 8°i- 12'x', 2012 as Fire <br />Prevention \Veek in the City of Lakewood and call upon the citizens of Lakewood to participate in fire <br />prevention activities al home. <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a <br />copy of this Resolution to Chief Scott K. Gilman, Fire Station No. I, Id601 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, <br />Ohio and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br />Section 3.
