RESOLUTION NO, 8789 -14 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, <br />Marx, Nowlin, O'Leary. <br />A RESOLUTION to commend Lakewood High School Boys Varsity Cross <br />County Team on capturing the Division 1 District Cross County Championship. <br />WHEREAS, Coach Stephanie Toole and Assistant Coach Jacob Ott led a group <br />of inspired young men to finish first out of eleven teams at Districts, the first title <br />since 2007, and <br />WHEREAS, Scoring for the Lakewood High School Rangers were sophomore <br />Henry Bish (5th place), senior Bely Stockman (101h), sophomore Tysaun Blevins <br />(13"'), junior Jacob Gregory (17th) and sophomore Micah Swartz (18u'). Freshman <br />Evan Budzar and sophomore Gunnar Stockman are also part of the winning team, and <br />WHEREAS, The top four teams (and 16 individuals) advanced to the Division <br />1 Regional Meet in Tiffin on October 25. The Tiffin meet is one of the fastest and <br />most competitive Regional meets in the state, and <br />WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper we extend fist bumps and high -fives <br />and whatever else be the current celebratory gestures for congratulating these swift <br />charging athletes, who, through their triumphant season racing over hillside and <br />woodside and dale, have brought glory not only to their school and families, but also <br />to our entire community; now therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this. Council and Mayor on behalf of the residents of <br />Lakewood commend Lakewood High School Boys Varsity Cross Country Team on its <br />outstanding athletic achievement during the 2014 High School cross country season. <br />Section 2.
