RESOLUTION NO. 8796 -15 BY: <br />Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, <br />Marx, O'Leary. <br />A RESOLUTION commending Scott Duennes on his retirement from <br />Cornucopia/Nature's Bin. <br />WHEREAS, in March 2015, Scott Duennes will be retiring from <br />Cornucopia/Natures Bin; and <br />WHEREAS, for 30 years Scott Duennes, as Executive Director of <br />Cornucopia/Nature's Bin, worked diligently to provide thousands of people with <br />disabilities workplace opportunities and training in vocation skills; and <br />WHEREAS, Scott's helping hand in that role provided training for people with <br />visual, speech and hearing impairment, and disabilities that included developmental <br />disabilities, autism, mental illness, and injuries sustained from accidents or illness; and <br />WHEREAS, during his directorship, the Nature's Bin has become a very popular <br />Lakewood shopping experience and a showcase of successful management; and <br />WHEREAS, he has shown that non -profit enterprises can foster many ancillary <br />benefits such as creating a successful and attractive business while educating consumers <br />in buying healthier and more nutritional foods, and <br />WHEREAS, he can make a rightful claim that he helped make "Vegan" and <br />"Organic" and "Tofurkey" household words in Lakewood; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council and Mayor commend Scott Duennes for three decades of <br />service as a guiding light in his organizations' commitment to others and wish him <br />health, happiness and prosperity in his retirement. <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and directed to forward a copy <br />this Resolution to Mr. Scott Duennes. <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and <br />relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and <br />that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br />action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. t <br />Adopted: -Mc -,�<L { �> �Z cs i <br />Approved: 4 ,J7,) <br />1V1H T UM <br />
