RESOLUTION NO. 8819 -15 BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, Madigan, <br />Marx, O'Leary. <br />A RESOLUTION supporting the submittal of a grant application to the local <br />government innovation fiord by the City of Lakewood in order to fund a feasibility study to <br />examine cost saving opportunities from fleet vehicle alternative fuel use. <br />WHEREAS, fleet vehicles perform important services for residents and the community, <br />including emergency response, infrastructure maintenance, and administrative fimctions; and <br />WHEREAS, fleet vehicle operations have significant financial and environmental costs; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, maximizing operational cost - effectiveness and environmental performance <br />of fleet vehicles is the interest of taxpayers and community health; and <br />WHEREAS, it is recognized that this study will provide vital information on options for <br />improving fleet cost - effectiveness, efficiency, and environmental performance; and <br />WHEREAS, a collaborative effort with other area communities and businesses will <br />maximize application competitiveness, provide program efficiencies, and reduce overall costs; <br />now, therefor: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Lakewood, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the Mayor and Council of the City of Lakewood, Ohio support the <br />submittal of a grant application to the Local Government Innovation Fund for a feasibility study <br />to examine cost saving opportunities from fleet vehicle use of alternative fuels and efficiency <br />technologies. <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were passed in open meetings of this Council and <br />that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such actions were <br />in meetings open to the public and in compliance with legal requirements. <br />Adopted: .421(L,� E ZJ <br />Approved: <br />MAYOR <br />
