RESOLUTION NO. 8896 -16 BY: Anderson, Bullock, <br />Litten, Marx, Nowlin, O'Leary, O'Malley. <br />A RESOLUTION celebrating the 50`x' anniversary of VMCAD, previously known as the Virginia <br />Marti College of Art & Design. <br />WHEREAS, VMCAD is locally, regionally, and nationally recognized as the college <br />where design and business converge, offering aspiring designers the ideal environment in which <br />to thrive, and; <br />WHEREAS, VMCAD offers associate and bachelor degrees that prepare students for <br />success in the fields of fashion, design, and interior design through a hands -on curriculum, and; <br />WHEREAS, VMCAD's personalized instruction and small school atmosphere nurture <br />students' creative growth and entrepreneurial spirit, giving them an advantage in the competitive <br />field of design, and; <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the City of Lakewood have derived great honor and esteem <br />by VMCAD's various contributions and the vibrancy it adds to our community, now, therefore; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council hereby acknowledges VMCAD's milestone anniversary and <br />celebrates its 50 -year presence in our community. <br />Section 2.
