14.09 A compensatory time bank will be established, effective on the date this agreement is <br />ratified by the parties, whenever an employee works overtime. Employees shall be eligible to <br />receive either compensatory time or overtime at the rate of time and one -half or the applicable <br />overtime rate if not time and one -half. Employees may accumulate no more than 100 hours of <br />compensatory time. Employees eligible for such time shall have the right to receive overtime pay <br />or FLSA compensatory time. The employee will choose their option on the appropriate form <br />established by the employer in Precinct Manager. Approval for use of compensatory time for <br />time off will be based on the needs of the department to the extent use of compensatory time for <br />time off will not be unduly disruptive to the department's operations. <br />The parties agree to convene in a labor - management meeting no later than the first anniversary <br />of the date of this agreement and each January thereafter to determine how the provisions of this <br />section have affected the respective needs of the parties, and to discuss any adjustments to policy <br />as they may be warranted. <br />14.10 All new bargaining unit employees must sign up for direct deposit upon hire. All current <br />bargaining unit employees must sign up for direct deposit within 60 days of the ratification of <br />this contract. <br />ARTICLE 15 EQUALIZATION OF OVERTIME /CALL -BACK HOLDOVER <br />PROCEDURE <br />15.01 The City shall be the sole judge of the necessity of overtime. When overtime is required, <br />the City shall first offer the available overtime to employees who are classified for the available <br />work in accordance with the following: <br />A. OVERTIME OF FOUR (4) OR MORE HOURS <br />1. Contact the Dispatchers scheduled RDO on that shift that day and offer <br />overtime. If not available: <br />2. By seniority, contact the Dispatchers on other shifts scheduled RDO that day <br />and offer overtime. If not available: <br />Offer a maximum of four (4) hours overtime by seniority (high to low) to <br />Dispatchers working the next shift. If refused: <br />4. Offer a minimum of four (4) hours overtime by seniority (high to low) to <br />Dispatchers on duty. If refused: <br />5. Contact a swing shift Dispatcher working that day and offer the opportunity to <br />change his or her work hours that day to cover the available overtime. If <br />refused: <br />6. Require least senior Dispatcher to stay a minimum of four (4) hours. <br />11 <br />
