Provide a narrative description of your idea in 250 words or less. Attach a separate sheet
if necessary: This proposal calls for the acquisition and installation of 2 -3 electric vehicle
charging stations at high- traffic, high visibility locations throughout the City. Each station has
the ability to charge two vehicles simultaneously, bringing 4 -6 charging ports to the City.
2. Briefly explain how this will benefit the community: Currently, there are no electric vehicle
charging stations in Lakewood. Bringing charging stations to the City will directly benefit
individuals and families with electric vehicles who live, work, shop and dine in Lakewood.
Furthermore, there is evidence to suggest that charging stations might entice folks who do not
currently live, work, shop and dine in Lakewood to do so, keeping our City competitive with its
neighbors.
3. Estimated expense (provide a range): $25,000
4. If applicable, summarize any proposals or discussions from the past that are related to
this priority.
