In doing so, the community has suggested modest improvements
including remediation of debris from former structures, more bench seating, walking path signage as well as
some opportunities for community art, gardens and /or preforming arts space.
2. Briefly explain how this will benefit the community:
Designating the six city owned parcels that constitutes the majority of St. Charles Green a park will ensure that
future development of the area will always leave this area as park space for residents and visitors to enjoy. Also,
removing construction materials left in the park from previous structure and /or dumping would help to ensure
the safety of those who use the space.
Make the space more suitable for use in downtown street events like the Lakewood Arts Festival, Summer
Meltdown, Light Up Lakewood as well as programed activities throughout the year.
017 Reso 9020 -18 -as substituted by Finance 10/1/18
