RESOLUTION NO. 9047 -19 <br />Anderson, Bullock, George, Litten, <br />O'Leary, O'Malley, Rader <br />A RESOLUTION to recognize Lakewood High School senior Malvin Gblah for the <br />talent, skill, passion, and dedication that he brings to the game of soccer which have earned him <br />a place on the United Soccer Coaches All- American Team. <br />WHEREAS, upon joining the LHS soccer team as a freshman, Malvin stood out right <br />away as a player with a special aptitude for the game, and; <br />WHEREAS, over the course of his four years on the LHS team, Malvin has set and <br />matched multiple school records for goals, assists, and number of games played, and; <br />WHEREAS, Malvin's record - setting play caused him to be recognized by a number of <br />local, regional, and state soccer organizations, culminating in his earning a place on the <br />prestigious United Soccer Coaches All - American Team, and; <br />WHEREAS, Malvin's journey to success on the soccer field is even more remarkable <br />considering the struggles that he and his family endured living in a refugee camp preceding their <br />arrival in Lakewood. Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council does hereby recognize Malvin Gblah for the talent, skill, <br />passion, and dedication that he brings to the game of soccer which have earned him a place on <br />the United Soccer Coaches All - American Team. <br />Section 2. That this Council does hereby recognize the family, coaches, teammates and <br />school community who have encouraged and supported Malvin both on and off the soccer field. <br />Section 3. That this Council does hereby express pride in having Malvin Gblah represent <br />our City and State on the Unites Soccer Coaches All - American Team. We wish him a rewarding, <br />challenging, and fun experience competing at the national level. <br />Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />Adopted: <br />Approved: <br />
