Cuyahoga County Solid Waste Management Plan Update (December 2018) Chapter 6: Budget
2. District Expenses for the Plan Period
Throughout the planning period, the District projects expenses at approximately $2.2 million per
year during the first seven years of the planning period. Table 6 -2 summarizes expenses by program
type. The complete detailed budget and budget explanation can be found in Appendix O.
The budget will remain relatively constant throughout this period with the exception of 2019 when
the budget includes a one -time cash outlay towards the anticipated purchase of the District's
current building which will reduce long term space costs. Other notable variations include a
personnel increase in 2020 for an additional position to assist with the implementation of new
initiatives identified in this Plan Update and a litter collection increase in 2020 to expand litter
collection services for communities. Also, while the amount of funds budgeted for District grants is
held constant, the District will likely increase grant funding for communities but will be reviewed
annually and subject to approval by the District's Board.
