He was disappointed that there were not future opportunities to <br />discuss these options. <br />Councilmember O'Leary responded, expressing a desire to provide as much notice for <br />committee meetings as possible but also explaining the scheduling constraints that sometimes <br />prevent this from being possible. He also provided examples of public meetings held after <br />August 2015 on the topic of downtown development and remarked that additional meetings will <br />be scheduled in the future. <br />Mayor Summers also responded pointing out examples of well- attended public meetings on the <br />topic of downtown development. <br />Mr. Dilzell clarified his remarks, stating that his chief complaint is that the public did not get to <br />further debate the pros and cons of mixed use verses other types of development after August <br />2015. <br />2. ORDINANCE NO. 34-17 — AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of at least five members of Council, or otherwise to <br />take effect at the earliest period allowed by law, amending Section 1103.02(zz), <br />Definitions (Outdoor /Seasonal Dining Facility), of the Codified Ordinances of the <br />City of Lakewood in order to further clarify an outdoor dining space. Anderson, to adopt Ordinance 34 -17. <br />Motion adopted. All members voting yea. <br />3. ORDINANCE NO. 36-17 — AN ORDINANCE to take effect at the earliest period <br />allowed by law, amending various sections and enacting new chapters of the Zoning <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood in order to further clarify <br />and regulate parking plan review in the City. (1 ST READING & REFERRED TO <br />THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE 10/16/17, 2141) READING 11/6/17) (Pg. 11) <br />Motion by Mr. O'Leary, seconded by Mr. Anderson, to adopt Ordinance 36 -17. <br />Motion adopted.
