RESOLUTION NO. 9072-19 <br />Anderson, Bullock, George, Litten, <br />BY: O'Leary, O'Malley, Rader <br />A RESOLUTION to recognize Lakewood High School freshman Inga Wilhelmy for her <br />creativity and artistic ability that allowed her to earn a Silver Medal in the Scholastic Art & Writing <br />Awards competition presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. <br />WHEREAS, this competition is the nation's longest - running and most prestigious recognition <br />program for creative teens in grades 7 -12. More than 340,000 pieces of art were submitted for the <br />contest and Inga's efforts placed her in the top 1% of entrants. <br />WHEREAS, Inga won Silver Medal status in Mixed Media for her "Sea Shells" piece. Her <br />piece will be included in a national online exhibit on the Scholastic Art & Writing website, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council does hereby recognize Inga's unique talent, dedication, and skill <br />that have earned her a Silver Medal in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. <br />Section 2. That this Council does hereby recognize Inga's teacher, Autumn Sabin, family, <br />and school community who have encouraged and supported her both inside and outside the studio. <br />Section 3. That this Council does hereby express pride in having Inga represent our City on <br />the national level of competition. We wish her rewarding, challenging, and fun experiences as she <br />moves forward with her academic and artistic careers. <br />Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and <br />relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all <br />such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were <br />in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />Adopted: l <br />Approved: <br />rvrry x v& <br />
