Provide a brief narrative description of your idea: <br />Education & Culture <br />Allocate up to $250,000 from the existing Fleet budget, NOPEC grants, and /or the Economic <br />Development Fund to achieve the goals of the Lakewood Fleet Alternatives Analysis study for <br />electric vehicle charging infrastructure, clean vehicles (likely EVs) for the City fleet, and purchase <br />and installation of anti - idling systems. <br />2. Briefly explain how this will benefit the community: <br />Healthier air from reduced emissions; adoption of emerging technologies so the City is on the leading <br />edge of new, clean transportation. <br />3. Estimated expense (provide a range): <br />Up to $250,000 (for one or two vehicles; EV chargers; and anti - idling systems). <br />4. If applicable, describe any past proposals or discussions that are related to this priority. <br />Extensive discussions in the last three to five years with the Administration and Council. In 2019, the City installed <br />our first EV chargers. <br />5. If applicable, describe any preliminary discussions you have had with colleagues, the administration <br />and /or your constituents about this priority. <br />Informal discussion with Councilmembers and Fleet Manager. <br />030 <br />
