Anderson, Bullock, George, Litten, O'Leary, <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2019-15 BY: O'Malley, Rader <br />A RESOLUTION to commend Samuel T. O'Leary for his exemplary public service as a member <br />of Lakewood City Council. <br />WHEREAS, on January 21, 2014 Sam O'Leary was unanimously appointed by his <br />colleagues to fill the unexpired term of the ward 2 Council position. In 2015, Mr. O'Leary <br />campaigned for the position and was elected for the current term, set to expire December 31, <br />2019;and, <br />WHEREAS, four of Mr. O'Leary's six years on Council were spent serving as Council <br />President, a position to which he was elected by a majority of his colleagues; and, <br />WHEREAS, Mr. O'Leary successfully transitioned Council operations into the 2I't <br />century by championing new technology and digital solutions to make Council business more <br />efficient and accessible to the public; and, <br />WHEREAS, Mr. O'Leary earned the esteem and respect of his constituents and City Hall <br />colleagues with his ability to focus on the City's micro and macro level concerns simultaneously <br />- ranging in scope from overhauling the city charter, ensuring EPA compliance, and scrutinizing <br />major development proposals while at the same time dutifully following up on quotidian resident <br />issues; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That this Council does hereby commend Samuel T. O'Leary for his six years <br />of dedicated public service as a member of Lakewood City Council. <br />Section 2. That this Council does hereby wish Sam and his wife Morgan all the best in <br />their future endeavors. <br />Section 3. That this Council does hereby wish Sam a seamless transition from elected <br />official to engaged and active citizen of Lakewood, where we hope he will carry out his new role <br />by returning to Council Chambers whenever moved to share his insightful, analytical, and <br />inspired perspectives on civic life. <br />Adopted <br />�W �Dm <br />L =—�� <br />Approved: <br />MAYOR <br />
