ARTICLE 27 <br />AGREEMENT SUPERSEDES <br />27.01 Any City ordinance, Division of Fire rules, regulations, general and special orders, Civil Service <br />regulations and verbal orders that directly conflict with express terms of this Agreement shall be <br />superseded by this Agreement. <br />ARTICLE 28 <br />OBLIGATION TO NEGOTIATE <br />28.01 The City and the Association acknowledge that during negotiations, which preceded this <br />Agreement, each had the unlimited right and opportunity to make demands and proposals with respect <br />to any subject or matter not removed by law from the area of collective bargaining/negotiations and that <br />the understandings and agreements arrived at by the parties after the exercise of that right and opportunity <br />are set forth in this Agreement. <br />28.02 Therefore, for the life of this Agreement, the City and the Association each voluntarily and <br />unqualifiedly waive the rights, and each agrees that the other shall not be obligated to negotiate <br />collectively with respect to any subject or matter referred to or covered in this Agreement. <br />ARTICLE 29 <br />SAFETY COMMITTEE <br />29.01 There shall be one joint Safety Committee in the City of Lakewood, Division of Fire, composed <br />of two (2) members selected by the Association, and one (1) member selected by Lakewood Paramedics <br />Association and two (2) members selected by the Fire Chief. At least one member of the Safety <br />Committee shall be an officer. Minutes of meetings shall be maintained by the Committee andforwarded <br />to the Fire Chief. <br />29.02 The Safety Committee shall meet quarterly, or more or less often by mutual consent, and such <br />meetings shall be scheduled at the time established by the Chief of the Division of Fire, Fire Marshal or <br />designee, who shall preside at all meetings. <br />29.03 The purpose of these meetings will be to it problems and objectives of mutual concern, <br />concerning safety and health conditions of the Division of Fire. <br />ARTICLE 30 <br />PRIOR SERVICE CREDIT <br />30.01 Effective July 5, 1987, the City shall permit any member hired prior to July 5, 1989, who has <br />formerly been employed as a full-time, permanent member by any legitimate governmental subdivision, <br />local, county or state, to carry over such previous service for the purpose of vacation selection. Such <br />member's vacation will be determined by adding the combined length of service the member has with <br />23 <br />
